Bee Strong Cancer Foundation (BSCF) proudly hosted another Mother’s Day Care Fair & Celebration on Friday, May 9th, 2025, at the Glendale–Mountain View Community Learning Center in Salt Lake City. What began years ago as a small appreciation event has transformed into one of Utah’s most meaningful community health gatherings.
A Day Built on Community, Culture, and Care
From 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, families across Glendale and surrounding neighborhoods came together for a morning dedicated to education and wellness. The event featured presentations, free health resources, and community connection.
Attendees enjoyed:
Informative health presentations led by partners.
Breast cancer screening opportunities, including on-site scheduling and mammogram vouchers.
Community resources.
Family-friendly activities, lunch, and raffle prizes.
This event empowered mothers with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to prioritize their health.
Expanding Access to Lifesaving Screenings
Key features of the event included mammogram vouchers and scheduling for women aged 40–65 who were uninsured, underinsured, or low-income. These initiatives help remove cost and access barriers that can prevent early detection and were made possible through the Utah Department of Health and BSCF’s collaboration with local mobile clinics.
Throughout the morning, community members were informed of BSCF’s services from the founders themselves and volunteers. They made sure every eligible woman understood how to qualify for vouchers and schedule a screening appointment.
Community Partnerships in Action
The event was made possible with the help of several partners, including the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Salt Lake City School District, University Neighborhood Partners, and more. These partnerships reflect the community-driven approach that’s at the core of BSCF’s mission.
Why This Event Matters
For many families, preventive healthcare remains out of reach. Whether that’s due to cost, language barriers, or lack of awareness, Bee Strong strives to provide these families with life-changing resources. By hosting this event directly within the community, BSCF provided a welcoming introduction to cancer education and screening support.
Looking Ahead
BSCF continues to expand its reach across Utah through cancer education workshops, HPV vaccine campaigns, community events (like this one), and partnerships with mobile screening services. The success of this year’s Mother’s Day Care Fair only strengthens the foundation’s long-term goal of replicating its community-first model in other underserved regions nationwide.
With the support of volunteers, partners, and families, Bee Strong Cancer Foundation will keep pushing forward.
